A hidden gem in Plymouth, Mount Olivet transforms into a cozy coffeehouse showcase every month. Featuring the Twin Cities best americana, acoustic folk, and blues singer-songwriters in up-close, fireside performances.
making a difference WITH local music
For the past fifteen years Mount Olivet has been showcasing local music while raising money for nonprofit organizations. We've raised over $17,000 to support ELCA World Hunger, The 30 Days Foundation, and Home Free.
In the past couple years we've refocused our coffee houses to benefit local organizations making an impact right here in the community. In 2015-2016, we raised more than $2,500 for Home Free, a local battered women's and children's shelter.

THE AMERICAN SLAVE'S STORY
Sunday, Feb 25th // 4-6 pm // Armstrong High School, Plymouth
$7 in advance // $10 at the door
Join Robbinsdale Area Schools choirs and members of the faith community for an afternoon exploring and performing a variety of spirituals. Dr. Guenther has deeply researched the role of singing and religion in slave life and directly correlates slave testimonies, in their own words, to the themes of spirituals. This first-time event brings together our schools and the community in a very meaningful and musical way.
A Community Sing: Presentation by Dr. Eileen Guenther
The audience will hear and learn about Slave Spirituals and have the opportunity to sing them. Choirs featured include: Robbinsdale All-District (5th grade) Choir, FAIR School, Crystal Gospel Choir, Armstrong High School Concert Choir, and Mount Olivet Lutheran Church of Plymouth's Chancel Choir.
All profits from this concert go to EMPTY BOWLS.
